An ideal warm-up race for the 2012 GNW Half Marathon.

11.00am		New Year Relay, The Knavesmire, York (Tadcaster Road end, Hamilton Panthers FC Pavilion)
An informal event suitable for all ages and standards. Enter on the day by 10.40. Entry fee £2 adults, £1 juniors (increased entry fee allows the race to make a donation to the football club's fund for a new pavilion).
Teams of 3 running 3 miles, 1.5 miles, 3 miles. Teams can enter together or individuals can be made into teams on the day. On grass, suitable for spikes. Bring your own pins for number!!
3 minutes starts given for a team with a female or a man over 50 or a boy under 12 (as at 31/8/11) or considered for a boy under 14 running a long stage.
6 minutes start given for teams with 2 of these people
From the organiser: "The growth of this event in recent years has made taking all entries on the day difficult, and delaying the start. If you have a team arranged, please email your entry to davepaver@hotmail.com with Club (or Team name) and athletes in running order (3, 1.5, 3m). For Over 40s please give the age group 40, 50, 60, 70. For Under 18s, please give their School Year. Your numbers can be collected on the day – and you will be able to make changes if needed. Entries will still be accepted on the day for those who do not have a team arranged in advance. Latest email entries 10pm on 1 January."

A series of Cross Country races open to all ages and abilities. Senior event will be run in packs. First race 12 noon, U17 and senior races not before 1.10pm.
Min age U11 9 on the day, other ages at 1/9/10. All over 17 run in senior race

from 9.30am		Haglof Open 5 Series Adventure Race Quantocks, Somerset
Competitors chose their own route and the distance they cover and aim to visit as many check points as they can in five hours by foot and on mountain bike. Entries welcome from male and females solos and male, female and mixed pairs. Suitable for experienced and first time adventure racers. Registration at 8.30am, Start between 9.30 and 10.30am.
